Congratulations on your offer to join DIYDG — a community-driven, purpose-led, and culturally strong organisation committed to empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, families, and communities. We are thrilled to welcome you as part of our growing team of change-makers, advocates, and warriors for justice and healing.

You've had your yarns with our management team, felt the energy of our space, and now, you're officially invited to step into your new role with us. This page will guide you through the next steps and get you started on your onboarding journey.

Onboarding

Step One: Provide your details

 

As part of your onboarding with DIYDG, Task One requires you to complete all personal and employment details and upload your mandatory documents, including your 100 points of ID and all relevant certificates and clearances.

This step is essential to ensure compliance with DIYDG policies and relevant legislation under Fair Work, NDIS, and Working with Children requirements.

Please ensure all documents are clear, current, and uploaded in full before moving to the next stage.

Step Two: Upload Additional Employment Documentation

 

In this step, you are required to provide any additional documentation needed to finalise your employment with DIYDG. This may include:

  • Signed contracts or agreements
  • Superannuation and tax forms
  • Emergency contact details
  • Medical disclosures (if relevant to your role
  • Any outstanding certificates or clearances
     

Step Two provides a secure upload section on the DIYDG HR platform where you can submit these documents directly.

Please ensure all files are clearly labelled, up to date, and submitted promptly to avoid delays in your onboarding process.

Step 3: Complete Mandatory Training Modules

Every new team member is required to complete mandatory training modules prior to the commencement of duties. These modules are crucial for familiarising yourself with industry standards and essential job skills. You will be provided with login details to access the training sites we use at DIYDG.

Step Four: Read and Acknowledge DIYDG Policies and Procedures

 

As part of your onboarding, Step Four requires you to read and familiarise yourself with DIYDG’s core policies and procedures. These documents outline your responsibilities, rights, and the standards expected while working with our organisation.

  • Code of Conduct
  • Workplace Health and Safety
  • Child Safety and Wellbeing 
  • Cultural Safety
  • Privacy and Confidentiality
  • Incident Reporting
  • NDIS and Working with Children compliance obligations
     

Please take the time to read them thoroughly to support a safe, lawful, and culturally strong workplace.

Step Five: Apps to Download Before Your First Day

 

To hit the ground running at DIYDG, please download the following essential apps onto your work device and phone:

  • Weel – for managing expenses and staff digital cards
  • Microsoft SharePoint – to access internal documents and resources
  • Microsoft Power Apps – for client and program management tools
  • Microsoft Teams – for team chats, video calls, and collaboration 
  • Employment Hero – for your employment details, leave, and payroll 
  • Microsoft To Do – to help manage daily tasks and program priorities
     

Once downloaded, your supervisor or buddy will guide you through how we use each of these in your first week.
