    2020

    • First DIYDG Board Retreat - Strategic Planning, Goal Setting, Team Bonding
    • Our Pamle Pamle service first began
    • Treasurer and youngest board member, Daniel Rosendale, received Young Citizen of the Year Award 
    • DIYDG formally moved into office space at Nintiringyani Cultural Training Centre building
    • Hit 2000 likes on Facebook
    • Semara Jose and George Bell launch Good Yarns
    • 3 board members attended ABC Trailblazers in Canberra and spoke at Parliament House about DIYDG
    • Semara Jose went on live television on ABC Breakfast Show to talk about DIYDG
    • Yirrkanji Indigenous Women's Rangers Workshop
    • Attended the JCU 12th Anniversary of the Kevin Rudd Apology
    • Presented Services to Youth Justice
    • Received our largest donation to date from member Nathan Dowling ($2000.00 and a new mobile phone!)
    • Fundraised $3000.00 to purchase a life-saving CPAP machine for a member and volunteer, Ferlin King
    • Presented at the 2020 National Indigenous Youth Empowerment Summit 
    • Hosted Street2Art event for the Cairns community with international Australian/First Nation graffiti artist, Shane Kooka (Creator of Street Dreamz)
    • Met with Kunjur First Nations Mens Group to explore partnership and map solutions to youth crime
    • Our Pamle Pamle service first began - first service was provided to 4 young people in commercial accomodation
    • We received our first "big" office printer
    • Empowered young people to participate in BLM movement, participated in the BLM March in Cairns
    • Hosted exclusive interview with international recording artist and songwriter Naomi Wenitong for Deadly Yarns
    • Started fundraising campaign for Naytive Mentorship - raised
    • Official launch of new website
    • Received Gambling fund grant 
    • Lift Leadership - delivered to Abergowrie, Kuranda
    • ANGELS + OUTCASTS nominated DIYDG as an organisation they wanted to donate to
    • We received our first donation of a car (named Tidda!)
    • Content Creator Wollie Gela (@balawolz) promoted DIYDG on TikTok
    • Indigenous Artist Jeddess Hudson donated a painting to auction, selecting DIYDG to receive the proceeds
    • Official partnership with Kunjur First Nations Mens Group
    • Hosted student placement with DIYDG
    • Wuchopperen donated furniture to DIYDG
    • Board member Daniel presented at Cairns Regional Council NAIDOC Week event

    • Semara Jose and Stacee Ketchell developed the Uluru Statement from the Heart Advocacy Training 
    • Presented the first Uluru Statement from the Heart Advocacy Training to Murama

    2019

    • Hosted a 3 day Youth Facilitator Training Camp
    • Led the Cairns NAIDOC Community March
    • Engaged with Aurukun Youth Advisory Council
    • Hosted our 4th annual "DIYDG Wellbeing Camp" at Murray Falls
    • Volunteered at the NAIDOC Week events for St Gerard Majella School
    • Volunteered at the NAIDOC Week event for Parramatta State School 
    • MC'd at National Job Link's Charity Bush Tucker Dinner and Film Premier
    • Sponsored 10 young people to attend the Cairns NAIDOC Corporate Breakfast
    • Delivered workshops and MC'd at the "Indigenous Leaders of Tomorrow" & "Indigenous Leaders for the Future" Conferences (Department of Education)
    • Delivered Student leadership activities in support of the Transition Support Services and Central Queensland University Resilience Project
    • Delivered school holiday activities for Cairns Coconut Resort
    • MC'd Birrimbah Beauty NAIDOC Afternoon Tea
    • 5 members attended the Queensland Indigenous Youth Leadership Program and the Eric Deeral Indigenous Youth Parliament
    • Supported Year 7 Induction at Mount Saint Bernard College 
    • Delivered an 8-week Girls Leadership Program at Yarrabah State School 
    • Facilitated Leadership Workshops at Cairns State High School for both seniors and juniors
    • Delivered Staff Professional Development for Peace Lutheran College 
    • Delivered Year 11 Leadership Retreat for Mount Saint Bernard College
    • Delivered NAIDOC Activities at Western Cape College
    • Flag bearers for the Cairns Festival Grand parade

    2018

    • Hosted a games night with Peace Lutheran Boarders
    • Hosted our 3rd annual "DIYDG Wellbeing Camp" at Murray Falls
    • Delivered Peace Lutheran College Leadership Camp
    • Delivered Mount Saint Bernard's Yr 11 Leadership Retreat
    • Delivered school holiday activities for Cairns Coconut Resort 
    • Volunteered at the 'Indigenous Leaders of Tomorrow' & 'Indigenous Leaders for the Future' Conferences (FNQ Department of Education & Training)
    • Delivered NAIDOC Activities to Western Cape College
    • MC'ed the Wuchopperen Health Service's Children's Day Celebrations
    • Delivered student leadership activities in support of the Transition Support Services and Central Queensland University Resilience Project
    • Flag bearers for the Cairns Festival Grand Parade
    • Delivered work readiness workshop to Trinity Bay State High School year 10 Indigenous students

    2017

    • Celebrated our first NITV good-news piece
    • Volunteered at the 'Indigenous Leaders of Tomorrow' & 'Indigenous Leaders for the Future' Conferences (FNQ Department of Education & Training)
    • Flag bearers for the Cairns Festival Grand Parade
    • Hosted 2nd annual "DIYDG Wellbeing Camp" at Murray Falls National Park
    • Hosted our a games night with boarding students at Peace Lutheran College
    • Supported the Transition Support Services Team in the Christmas Break up
    • Held a stall at the Cairns NAIDOC in the Park celebrations
    • Soft Launch at the Cairns Regional Council
    • FNQ ABC radio news piece as part of National Youth Week
    • Fundraised money for our organisation through car washes, sausage sizzles and raffles
    • Supported National Youth Week Champion, Luana Healey, at the Yarrabah Youth Sports Day
    • Provided young people with weekly gatherings, fostering positive social interactions
    • Provided young people with opportunities to develop life skills including sexual health
    • Began developing the DIYDG website

    2016

    • Hosted our first "DIYDG Wellbeing Camp"
    • Delivered four Youth-led & designed projects in the Murray Street Community funded by Oxfam Australia (auspiced by Anglicare North Queensland)
    • Volunteered at the 'Indigenous Leaders of Tomorrow' & 'Indigenous Leaders for the Future' Conferences (FNQ Department of Education & Training)
    • 26th October: DIYDG became a registered Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Corporation with ORIC.
    • 15th November: Elected first DIYDG board – Nicole Caelli, Semara Jose, Merrissa Nona, Alyce Jose, Stephina Tranby, George Bell, Stacee Ketchell, Mamie Buderus, Daniel Rosendale
    • 10th December: Our first DIYDG Family Christmas Celebration

    2015

    • Delivered a 10 week Mental Heath Program called "Awareness Starts With Us" in partnership with Personal Trainer George Bell & Wuchopperen Health Services funded by the Queensland Indigenous Youth Leadership Program, Queensland Government (auspiced by Woompera Muralug Co-Op Society Ltd.)
    • Hosted a Close The Gap Day event at the Manoora Community Centre
    • Volunteered at the "Indigenous Leaders of Tomorrow" & "Indigenous Leaders for the Future" Conferences (FNQ Department of Education & Training)
