Back in 2013, a small collective of young people met weekly
to connect with each other, be social, learn and grow together
and to give back to their community. As a result, they found that they became more resilient; had a greater sense of self identity.
From those first small weekly get-togethers... It has grown into
what is known today as Good Vibrations.
Culture, identity, love, respect, safety, positivity and most of all a sense of belonging are all things that we as young people need to thrive.
Good Vibrations' builds safe environments in a culture that enables young people to explore themselves, build positive peer connections, develop support structures that are both personal & professional and to always provide a space where young people belong.
Good Vibrations is designed simply for young people to have fun in a positive environment.
We do this through engaging in interactive activities every week, such as sports, educational workshops, yarning circles, playing games (because we all have an inner child).... Anything and everything!
The Good Vibrations' crew will tell you, the night is always filled with fun, food, laughter and meaningful connections.
One of our most anticipated events each year is our annual DIYDG Wellbeing Camp. The DIYDG Wellbeing Camp is a 3-day program that aims to raise the wellbeing of our young people, through making positive peer connections and being on Country.
The DIYDG Wellbeing Camp engages young people in workshops in self awareness, group sports to build connections with others, campfire yarns to share knowledge and stories, and more.
Young people are encouraged to build and facilitate their own workshops and activities and are fully supported by DIYDG.
Details for our 2021 DIYDG Wellbeing Camp will be released within the coming months! Follow our Facebook and Instagram pages to be the first to know!
Nicole is our deadly Good Vibrations coordinator! Being a young person, she knows exactly what young people want and coordinates and delivers our fun weekly Good Vibrations events!
